Roatan Cruise Port Guide: Isla Tropicale (Mahogany Bay) and Town Center (Coxen Hole)
Roatan has two cruise ports. Which one your ship uses depends on your cruise line, and it changes where we meet you. Here is what to expect at each port when you book a Roatan tour or shore excursion with DD Roatan Tours.
Which port does my cruise ship use?
- Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay) is Carnival Corporation’s port. Ships from Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Holland America dock here. It was renamed Isla Tropicale in 2025, and its new pool and beach club area opened in 2026.
- Town Center, Coxen Hole (also called the Port of Roatan) is used by the other cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and Virgin Voyages. It sits next to Coxen Hole, the island’s main town.
Your cruise line confirms the port in your itinerary. When you book, the reservation form asks for your ship’s name, so we know where to meet you.
Where we meet you at Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay)
From the ship it is approximately a 5-minute walk to our meeting point. Look for our staff holding a sign with your name at the entrance, just below the gate.
Where we meet you at Town Center (Coxen Hole)
It takes around 5 minutes to walk from the ship to the exit gate. Our staff will be just outside gate number 1, holding a sign with your name.
After you get off the ship
Please reach out to us within 30–45 minutes after disembarking, so your tour can start on time. If you have any difficulty finding us, message us on WhatsApp or call +504 8764-8741.
Staying at a hotel instead? We pick you up at your hotel lobby or anywhere on the island.
Getting back to your ship on time
After your excursion we return you to the port with ample time before your cruise departs, and we leave you inside the port.
If your ship is late or cannot dock
- If your cruise ship is unable to dock in Roatan, you get a full refund.
- If your ship arrives late, we can generally reschedule your tour for the same day, since the departure time may also change.
- When rescheduling is not possible (for example, with dolphin encounters), you may be eligible for a partial refund.
